Meet Willa
Hello! I’m Willa Powless, the founder of Willa Powless Consulting, LLC. With over two decades of experience in tribal governance, public speaking, and grant management, I've dedicated my career to enhancing tribal sovereignty and strengthening community partnerships across Indian Country. As a proud veteran, Indigenous woman, and champion of disability rights, I bring a unique perspective to my work, deeply rooted in my heritage and personal experiences. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Wyoming and an Associate of Applied Science in Legal Studies, alongside prestigious certifications such as a Tribal Leaders Executive Certificate from Harvard Business School and a Cultural Heritage Tourism Certificate from George Washington University. My passion lies in empowering tribal and non-tribal organizations through thoughtful collaboration and effective communication. I specialize in professional matchmaking, connecting you and your organization with the professional resources needed to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. Whether guiding nonprofits to grant readiness or facilitating dynamic public speaking engagements, my approach is always tailored to foster understanding, respect, and mutual growth. In addition to my consulting work, I am proudly affiliated with several impactful initiatives: Honor the Treaty of 1864, whose mission is to protect treaty rights and resources by educating, empowering, and informing our tribal community. Ancient Lure A venture promoting high-quality fishing gear, educational workshops, and advocacy for accessible waterways. Little Sister (The Gia Foster Memorial Foundation) focused on empowering and educating others to make smart and safe decisions. When I'm not writing grants or networking at conferences, you can find me spending quality time with my grandson by the river, indulging in our passion for fishing. I also love sharing my insights and experiences with a broader audience online. Dive deeper into my work and thoughts and connect with me through my active engagements at https://linktr.ee/wyoregal.
